The off-leash dog play area is on the west side of Alamo Square park, at Hayes and Steiner Streets. It's an open, unfenced grassy hillside, so your dog needs reliable recall. The grass can get muddy after rain. Street parking is usually manageable, but watch for street-cleaning days and curb your wheels on the hills. The park has restrooms.
